In a viral Reddit post, a dog owner revealed what their colleagues did after they put pictures of their pet up in their office—and internet users are outraged.
The owner explained in a post shared on the platform on Wednesday under the username u/9x19CZ that, after putting up pictures of their dog in their office, they came back a week later to find the images vandalized for no reason. What used to be wholesome pictures of the poster’s white poodle posing for the camera were turned into horror snaps after someone at the office decided to scratch off the pup’s eyes.
"Someone scratched my dog's eyes out of photos at work," the caption reads, "put photos of my dog Jasper up at work and someone scratched his eyes out. He goes to airports, special needs day cares, retirement homes, and schools where kids read books to him.
"He gets his photo taken for school picture day each year. I love to show him off and these pictures were up for maybe a week in the managers’ office."
In the comments section, the poster said that, after looking at the cameras, they have found out which of their colleagues did it, although the poster didn’t mention what they intend to do about it.
While the poster doesn’t seem to have the best relationship with their co-workers, most Americans thankfully do, including with their managers.
A survey carried out by Pew Research Center, published in March 2023, found that 67 percent of workers are extremely or very satisfied with their relationship with their co-workers. About 62 percent of Americans are also satisfied with their relationship with their managers or supervisors.
About 78 percent of workers say they are treated with respect at work, and 72 percent went as far as to say that they can actually be themselves at work all or most of the time.
Moreover, about 65 percent said they have at least one close friend at work, and 62 percent said that they feel their contributions at work are valued a great deal or a fair amount.
The post quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 22,000 upvotes and 2,200 comments on the platform.
One user, Imacompnerd, commented: "But, and hear me out; googly eyes would be the perfect replacement!"
Ok-Giraffe-8434 posted: "Came here to say this. If whoever did this hates staring eyes, then the googly eyes will surely tweak them."
Borgmaster added: "Only one thing to do. Power Move. Reprint the pictures, with enhanced eyes. Every time this happens, reprint with even bigger eyes. If you can make them watch people that's bonus points."
